Photography & Urban Cultures
Rachel Jones
Rachel Jones is interested in capturing the effects of everyday activity within the urban public realm and its influences upon public interaction. This series of photographs seeks to interrupt a linear narrative and examine the complex relationship between the "real" and the "imagined". By extracting moments from everyday life within the spaces of the city, she abstracts them so that they are unrecognisable. The "imagined" and the "real" become intertwined, thereby creating a non-linear narrative that provides insight into a new understanding of the city.
